Nach seiner erfolgreichen Akkreditierung durch die Wirtschaftsprüferkammer (WPK) bietet die Heinrich-Heine-Universität Düsseldorf  – als eine von nur zwei Universitäten deutschlandweit – Masterstudierenden die sogenannte Option nach § 13b WPO im Prüfungsgebiet an. Wer den Studienschwerpunkt erfolgreich durchläuft, erspart sich dort die Teilprüfungen in Betriebs- und Volkswirtschaftslehre. Der neue Schwerpunkt verbindet die Vertiefungen in den Fächern Accounting, Steuerlehre und Wirtschaftsprüfung mit fachbezogenen Aspekten der (Wirtschafts-)Informatik und Datenanalyse.

Die Elly-Heuss-Knapp-Schule mit etwa 3.000 Schülerinnen und Schülern in sechs Fachbereichen macht beim Talentscouting mit und arbeitet mit der Heinrich-Heine-Universität zusammen. Am 6. März unterzeichnete Schulleiter Ludger Traud die Kooperationsvereinbarung und erhielt die Plakette „Schule im NRW-Talentscouting“.

Der in der Pressemitteilung von ICistem (vom 5.3.2019) zitierte "Düsseldorfer HIV-Patient" wurde im Universitätsklinikum Düsseldorf aufgrund einer vergleichbaren Konstellation stammzelltransplantiert wie der "Londoner Patient" (Gupta R, University of Cambridge, UK). Indikation für die Stammzelltransplantation war seine Erkrankung an Akuter Myeloischer Leukämie (AML).
