From our beginning, Wikipedia has aspired to create a world where knowledge is free, accessible and useful to everyone, in every language, in every country, and across any device.
Although the volunteers who make Wikipedia possible have made great strides towards achieving this vision, we’re still a long way from getting there. They say Rome was not built in a day, and creating knowledge equity will require long-term collective efforts, investment in the public commons, and partnership with organizations that share our vision.

Die vor 40 Jahren begründete Graphiksammlung Mensch und Tod zählt heute mit ihren fast 6000 Originalgraphiken zu den umfassendsten und qualitativ hochwertigsten Graphiksammlungen um die Themen Sterben, Tod und Totentanz. In der Sammlung finden sich Kostbarkeiten wie die wohlbekannte Holzschnittfolge Hans Holbeins d. J. (1497/98-1543) Bilder des Todes, aber auch hochaktuelle Totentänze zeitgenössischer Künstler.

Der Lehrstuhl für Neuere Englische Literatur (Anglistik IV) bietet dieses Wintersemester ein aus QVM Fachmitteln gefördertes, projektorientiertes Lehrmodul im Masterstudiengang Comparative Studies an, das auch von internationalen Studierenden aus drei Ländern besucht wird. Logo nos primeiros dias do ano de 2019, o Rio de Janeiro registrou quatro casos de feminicídio, agravante de homicídio oficialmente incluído no Código Penal em março de 2015, a partir da aprovação da lei 13.104/15. De acordo com a norma, o assassinato passa a ser classificado como qualificado quando a mulher é morta por questões de gênero. Com o agravante aplicado, a pena mínima passa de 6 para 12 anos de prisão e a máxima, de 20 para 30 anos.

IoT survey: Nearly half of all companies using IoT devices don’t have mechanisms in place to detect if any of their devices have been hacked, according to a survey featured in a Fast Company story. Just 14 percent of the respondents to the Gemalto survey believe providing security is an ethical consideration.
