Científicos describen la ruta de un milenario cáncer canino

Con muestras de perros de 43 países de todo el mundo, y la participación de 80 investigadores -entre ellos los académicos de la Facultad de Ciencias Veterinarias y Pecuarias (FAVET), Cristóbal Briceño y Cristian Torres-, se realizó un inédito estudio liderado por la Universidad de Cambridge. El trabajo estableció el origen y recorrido del tumor venéreo transmisible (TVT), cáncer canino que se transmite por vía sexual, y que se estima podría haber surgido hace 6 mil años atrás en el noroeste asiático, para luego cruzar los océanos y expandirse por todo el mundo.
