The practice of lawyers cannot remain unaffected by recent advances in generative artificial intelligence (AI), whose gradual democratisation and rapid development could eventually reshape certain professional practices. For lawyers experienced in contract negotiation and drafting, these developments simultaneously spark genuine interest and legitimate concern.

On July 3, 2025, the USI indoor kickers and their selection met a selection of the USI artificial turf kickers at the SV Donau sports field in Kneipgasse. Two 30-minute matches were played in sweltering heat. Nevertheless, both teams gave their all in these conditions. In the end, the indoor footballers were able to celebrate. The match was refereed by (perhaps) future FIFA referee Klaus RISS. You couldn’t tell it was too hot for him. Afterwards, we went to the canteen of the Donau sports club and ended the evening together.

Während der Corona-Pandemie mussten deutsche Hochschulen schnell handeln: Vorlesungen und Seminare mussten online via Zoom angeboten werden. Nach den pandemiebedingten Lockdowns haben viele Dozierende synchron-hybride Lehr-Lern-Settings eingeführt. Dabei handelt es sich um Lehrveranstaltungen, an denen Studierende entweder vor Ort im Seminarraum oder zeitgleich online teilnehmen können.

Beyond technical assistance and finding information, many have turned to these bots for emotional support and companionship. These systems are increasingly used as informal therapists, confidants, or even substitutes for friendship, especially in contexts where people cannot access mental health services. In other cases, some simply want to speak to a non-judgmental conversationalist.
