Digital Age Research Center (D!ARC)

The Digital Age Research Center (D!ARC) conducts proven, internationally visible interdisciplinary digitization research and teaching and networks corresponding activities of all faculties and centers at the University of Klagenfurt. Fair AI acts as an overarching thematic framework for the research groups represented at the D!ARC.

The D!ARC is the core and driving force of the university-wide research area "Humans in the Digital Age" and aims not only to investigate the diverse developments of the digital age in the various fields of social action, but also to actively shape them. Since the winter semester of 2023, there has been a separate thematic doctoral program that is open to all doctoral students at the AAU who work in the field of HDA.

The D!ARC is characterized by a combination of multiple perspectives and represents a deliberately designed variety of methods . In order to create a valuable collaboration, there are specific interdisciplinary formats . These promote exchange and understanding across disciplinary boundaries, enable the identification of common research concerns and lay the foundation for sustainable interdisciplinary cooperation.
