Treffen des Netzwerks Sozialpädagogik in Österreich in Klagenfurt heraus entwickelte sich eine „Öffentliche Stellungnahme zur Situation und Zukunft der Kinder- und Jugendhilfe in Österreich“. Sie wurde am 26. Mai 2025 an die zuständige Bundesministerin Claudia Plakolm geschickt. Fast 700 Kolleg:innen fordern darin, in die Reformbemühungen unabhängige Vertreter:innen der Fachwissenschaft einzubinden.

Am Anfang ist alles viel schneller gegangen als erwartet: „Im Januar 2004 hatte ich nicht gesehen, dass schon im folgenden Dezember die Begabungspsychologische Beratungsstelle und das Frühstudium die Arbeit aufnehmen würden.“ Mit dieser Aussage hat Wolfgang Schneider seinen Vortrag beim Festakt zum 20-jährigen Doppeljubiläum eingeleitet. Schneider hatte bis 2016 den Lehrstuhl für Psychologie IV der Universität Würzburg inne; er war Initiator und, von 2005 bis 2019, Direktor der Begabungspsychologischen Beratungsstelle.

Tips are often treated as casually as they are given. What exactly constitutes a tip can’t even be clearly defined in legal terms, but rather resembles a kind of “moral agreement,” as historian Winfried Speitkamp puts it. In his small volume Der Rest ist für Sie! (“Keep the Change!”), he has produced one of the very few German academic publications on the history of tipping.

Already in the 1970s, the success of microtransactions in gaming began with the so-called arcade video games: In public arcades, games like Donkey Kong or Pac-Man could be started by inserting a coin into a machine. Today, so-called free-to-play games – which dominate the market – are initially offered at no cost and financed through microtransactions that allow players to purchase progress, items, or characters within the game.

Dirigé par la professeure Violaine Lemay, ce travail est intitulé « Géopolitique de la santé : guerres paradigmatiques fratricides et mortelles entre médecines du monde ».
La thèse a été reçue avec la mention exceptionnelle. Elle a obtenue les félicitations du jury et a été recommandée à la publication dans une « grande maison d’édition ». À cela s’ajoute une considération sur la liste d’honneur du recteur.

We get it; we really do. Lawmakers across the world are rightly focused on regulating powerful, for-profit platforms to mitigate the harms ascribed to social media and other threats online. When developing such legislation, however, some draft laws can inadvertently place public interest projects like Wikipedia at risk. At the Wikimedia Foundation, the nonprofit organization that hosts Wikipedia and other Wikimedia platforms, we have found that when a proposed law harms Wikipedia, in many cases it likely harms other community-led websites, open resources, or digital infrastructure.
