O Prof. Fernando Leal concluiu recentemente estudos de pós-doutorado na faculdade de direito da Ruprecht-Karls-Universität Heidelberg, na Alemanha.
Por um período de dois meses, de dezembro/2019 a janeiro/2020, o professor Fernando esteve em Heidelberg e contou com apoio do serviço alemão de intercâmbio acadêmico (DAAD) após ter seu projeto avaliado pela instituição.

La iniciativa, desarrollada por la Unidad de Aprendizaje del Departamento de Pregrado, en conjunto con Educación Online (EOL) de la Universidad de Chile, busca facilitar la transición e inserción a la educación superior de los más de 6 mil estudiantes que ya se matricularon este año en la institución. Las clases virtuales se iniciarán este lunes 16 de marzo en la plataforma digital.El ingreso a la Educación Superior es, sin duda, un proceso que reporta muchas tensiones a los miles de jóvenes que ingresan a la Casa de Bello.

La Pista Atlética Mario Recordón será el escenario de este campeonato. La competencia, organizada en esta oportunidad por Deporte Azul de la Universidad de Chile, se realizará el próximo sábado y pueden participar todos los atletas que pertenezcan en clubes federados. No se realizará cobro por inscripción.El deporte universitario dará inicio a su temporada 2020 con el Torneo Federado que este 14 de marzo realizará la Universidad de Chile en la Pista Atlética Mario Recordón, que se espera reúna a entre 200 y 300 atletas.

La revista científica The Lancet HIV publicó este lunes el caso del "paciente de Londres", un hombre que sería la segunda persona con VIH que, tras recibir un trasplante de médula ósea para tratar un cáncer, se habría reportado libre del virus. Los académicos de la U. de Chile Claudia Cortés y Alejandro Afani aseguran que este avance abre nuevas líneas de investigación y desarrollo para una eventual cura del VIH.

Fellows Advisory Board member Judith Donath on the privilege of working online:

The coronavirus outbreak means that up to 20 per cent of the UK workforce could be off sick or self-isolating during the peak of an epidemic.
