Andere Chaperone, sog. „Assembly Chaperone“ kümmern sich darum, im dicht gepackten Zellinneren unterschiedliche Bausteine an einem Ort zu konzentrieren und diese dann geordnet zu großen Proteinkomplexen zusammenzufügen.

Derartige Wettbewerbe können durchaus die Produktivität steigern. Aber sie haben auch Schattenseiten: Aus wissenschaftlichen Studien ist bekannt, dass sie zum Beispiel die Zusammenarbeit zwischen Kolleginnen und Kollegen kurzfristig verschlechtern.
