Restore Network Access in Jammu and Kashmir
A coalition of digital rights groups have condemned the Indian government and demanded to immediately restore network access in occupied Jammu and Kashmir. The entire region has been subjected to a total telecommunications blackout. This is the 51st time in 2019 that access to internet, declared a basic human right by the United Nations, has been suspended here. Last year, there were 65 shutdowns, and 176 over the past eight years, including a six-month ban in 2016.
