The Corona pandemic has profoundly changed lives around the globe. In addition to the immediate health dangers of the pandemic, physical distancing also poses challenges to psychological and social well-being. The long-term psycho-social consequences are impossible to predict. In these problematic times, solutions based on digital technologies play a central role. For example, digital platforms offer manifold opportunities to improve emotional stability, for example by connecting and sharing with others during periods of lockdowns.

Digital Ethnography Research Centre [DERC], Royal Melbourne University of Technology, extends the Internship opportunity to Indian students [Master’s level] for a duration of one to three months.
DERC is committed in its continued and ongoing focus on digital research practices and assumes even more significance in the context of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. The DERC Internship aims to extend the realm of digital research, questions, and methodologies to Indian students, particularly from regional universities.

Sólo un 41 por ciento responde que se vacunará "de todas formas", de acuerdo a Vida en Pandemia, estudio longitudinal de la Universidad de Chile sobre el impacto de la crisis sanitaria en la población. La encuesta, aplicada a 2.019 personas, revela además que los hombres, las personas de mayor edad y los sectores de ingresos más altos tienen mejor disposición frente a la vacuna; mientras que el rechazo al dispositivo médico es más elevado entre las mujeres, los más jóvenes y sectores de menores recursos.
Lending a hand: The Mali Chapter of the Internet Society is focusing on helping women who aren’t digitally literate connect to the Internet. The chapter is providing training to help these women, including women with disabilities, earn income through online services like Facebook and WhatsApp. Participants have included small business operators, including caterers and hairdressers.
