Im Norden der Türkei liegt die UNESCO-Welterbestätte Boğazköy-Hattuša. Sie war einmal die Hauptstadt des hethitischen Reiches, einer Großmacht in der späten Bronzezeit um 1650 bis 1200 vor Christus.
Die Keilschrifttafeln, die dort und an anderen hethitischen Stätten entdeckt wurden, bilden eine der größten Textgruppen aus dem Alten Orient. Sie enthalten Tausende von Quellen in Hethitisch, einer früh bezeugten indoeuropäischen Sprache, sowie zahlreiche Fragmente in anderen anatolischen Sprachen. Auf den Tafeln sind außerdem sumerische, akkadische und hurritische Texte zu finden.

The Carinthian Academic Badminton Championships were once again held this year at the USI-Klagenfurt sports facility. On Fri. 21.03.2025, almost 25 enthusiastic badminton players battled it out in the individual competitions. The champions in the various categories were determined in exciting competitions: Women’s Singles, Men’s Singles, Mixed Doubles, Women’s Doubles and Men’s Doubles.
