The Online Trust Alliance (OTA) is an Internet Society initiative that aims to enhance online trust, user empowerment, and innovation through convening multistakeholder initiatives and developing and promoting best practices, ethical privacy practices, and data stewardship. Africa’s dream of Cape Town to Cairo fiber connectivity has moved closer, with Liquid Telecom announcing that it has made considerable progress is signing agreements with regulatory authorities and partners within the route.
Liquid Telecom has an ambitious plan of reducing latencies in connectivity between Cape Town and Cairo. Currently, traffic is routed through Europe, with latencies of 209ms, and it will be reduced to 97ms.

Obwohl viele Patienten an Polyneuropathie leiden, weiß man derzeit relativ wenig über ihre Entstehung, was auch die therapeutischen Möglichkeiten begrenzt. Bislang ist bekannt, dass Entzündungsprozesse zu anderen diabetischen Komplikationen wie Herzinfarkt oder Schlaganfall beitragen. Ziel dieser neuen Studie war daher die umfangreiche Analyse von Biomarkern, die Entzündungsprozesse als Risikofaktor für die sogenannte distale sensorische Polyneuropathie charakterisieren. Dabei wurden sowohl Menschen mit Typ-2-Diabetes als auch Menschen in der älteren Allgemeinbevölkerung untersucht.
