Fairtrade-Universities sind Hochschulen im gesamten Bundesgebiet, die sich für fairen Handel einsetzen und so einen wichtigen Beitrag zur Bildung für nachhaltige Entwicklung darstellen. Träger der Kampagne ist der gemeinnützige Verein TransFair, der in Köln ansässig ist. Die Heinrich-Heine-Universität ist die 7. Hochschule in NRW, die diese Auszeichnung erhält. Bundesweit sind bereits 24 Hochschulen aktiv.
Casi mil alumnos, entre primero y tercero medio de ocho colegios de la Región Metropolitana, participaron en una investigación realizada por académicos e investigadores de la Facultad de Medicina, quienes utilizaron un programa en línea para la promoción, prevención e intervención de los trastornos del ánimo. Los resultados de este estudio, presentados en Casa Central, fueron auspiciosos y revelaron que los estudiantes que hicieron uso de la plataforma web lograron reducir los síntomas depresivos en comparación al grupo que no tuvo acceso a esta tecnología.

Studies estimate that there are more than 7,000 languages spoken around the world. Wikipedia exists in about 300 of them. That’s about 4 percent of some of the world’s languages documenting some of the world’s knowledge.
Eine mechanistische, wissenschaftlich tragfähige Hypothese, die diese epidemiologischen Daten erklären hilft, fehlt bisher. Ein deutsch/spanisches Forschungsprojekt an der Klinik für Kinder-Onkologie, -Hämatologie und Klinische Immunologie des Universitätsklinikums Düsseldorf untersucht nun den Einfluss von sehr niedrig dosierter Strahlung auf die Leukämieentwicklung im gesunden, allerdings mit einer genetischen Leukämieprädisposition vorbelastetem Organismus. Das Bundesamt für Strahlenschutz unterstützt mit mehr als 850.000 Euro die Studie an der Düsseldorfer Klinik.

In den Jahren zwischen 1950 und 1970 gab es in Nordrhein-Westfalen eine rege Bautätigkeit, hierbei wurden auch neue Schulen und Universitäten – sowie die Düsseldorfer Heinrich-Heine-Universität – gebaut. Viele diese Bauten verkörperten im Rheinland ein Zeichen des Fortschritts und avancierten zum Wegweiser für eine bessere Zukunft. Als Erbe der Vergangenheit werden diese architektonischen Phänomene in aktuellen und internationalen Projekten wie #SOSBrutalism und Big Beautiful Buildings wiederentdeckt und erfahren somit eine neue Wertschätzung.
