With mathematical precision and a passion for data, Olivia Pfeiler is helping to shape the future of artificial intelligence. A graduate of the University of Klagenfurt, she studied Engineering Mathematics and Romance Languages and Literature, before going on to complete a PhD in Engineering Mathematics. She has been working for many years at KAI – the Competence Centre for Automotive and Industrial Electronics in Villach, where she now heads the data science team as Head of Data Science.

Woher stammen die heute rund 100 Arten der Stärlinge, und wie haben sie sich über Nord- und Südamerika ausgebreitet? Dr. Axel Arango Garcia und Professor Chaitanya S. Gokhale vom Lehrstuhl für Computational and Theoretical Biology (CCTB) der Julius-Maximilians-Universität Würzburg (JMU) haben die Evolutionsgeschichte dieser Vogelfamilie rekonstruiert. Ihre Ergebnisse zeigen, dass die Vorfahren der heutigen Arten höchstwahrscheinlich aus Nordamerika stammten und sich über Millionen von Jahren schrittweise nach Süden ausbreiteten.

Decision-making is often about identifying trade-offs. When considering the development of Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI), one of the trade-offs that might arise is between prioritising sovereignty and service stability.

Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools and data-driven technologies have improved efficiency in various sectors, including tax collection, e-government, agriculture, security, healthcare, and transport. In August, the International Policy Advice and Coordination Community of Practice conducted a webinar on how digital innovations have improved policymaking for peer learning and the mutual benefit of members.

Klasse – reguläre Lehrveranstaltungen zu belegen, an Prüfungen teilzunehmen und die erbrachten Leistungen für ein späteres Studium anrechnen zu lassen.
