Bernard Lietaer was one of the great thinkers about money in our time, who played a role in co-designing various important monetary experiments, and could integrate our current moment in a larger history of value exchange. Today, Open Knowledge International is launching the Frictionless Data Tool Fund, a mini-grant scheme offering grants of $5,000 to support individuals or organisations in developing an open tool for reproducible science or research built using the Frictionless Data specifications and software. We welcome submissions of interest until 15 April 2019.
The Junior Research Group will be located in the ”Philosophy & Ethics Lab” within the Machine Learning Cluster, focusing on “Philosophical / Ethical Implications of Machine Learning in Science”. The Research Group will interact with the PIs and group leaders from the diverse scientific disciplines within the Cluster.The group leader is expected to develop and carry out a research program, focusing on either Philosophy of Science or Ethics. Too easy to fake: OpenAI, a research institute in San Francisco, has developed an Artificial Intelligence program to write news articles, but has declined to release a full-featured version of it because of fears that the AI could easily produce fake news, the MIT Technology Review says. OpenAI, associated with AI skeptic Elon Musk, will make only a simplified version publicly available.
