8 October 2021, San Francisco, California — The Wikimedia Foundation today announced the appointment of two new Vice Presidents: Anusha Alikhan as Vice President of Communications, and Margeigh Novotny as Vice President of Product Design. The Wikimedia Foundation is the nonprofit organization that supports Wikipedia and other free knowledge projects. With this news, both Anusha and Margeigh build on their established tenure at the Foundation and step into expanded leadership roles supporting the broader free knowledge movement.

Luego de ello, vendrá una semana territorial, donde cada convencional deberá llevar adelante trabajo de consulta e interacción con la ciudadanía. From the continuing COVID-19 pandemic through the aftermath of the US election to the influence of problematic state and commercial actors, 2021 has been marked by substantial concerns about the impact of mis- and disinformation on individuals, groups, and society as a whole.

This seminar is focused on sharing Indigenous journeys in research, universities and the online space, particularly Blak social media. A small group of Indigenous researchers will yarn on stage, sharing their experiences of Indigenous research (methods, principles, practices etc) focused on Indigenous sovereignty, voices, knowledge and experiences, and how media and digital approaches can be/have been included in these.
