Como parte del Seminario Permanente "Universidades públicas latinoamericanas: Construyendo la educación no sexista", la directora del Centro de Investigaciones y Estudios de Género de la Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM), Ana Buquet, explicó ante la comunidad de la U. de Chile la experiencia del plantel mexicano, destacando ámbitos como la realización constante de estudios y la importancia y el desafío de transversalizar las políticas de género en las instituciones.
Luego de las elecciones realizadas el 10 de mayo, el Profesor Titular de la Facultad de Medicina y actual Rector de nuestro plantel fue elegido nuevamente por la comunidad académica como máxima autoridad universitaria, motivo por el cual este jueves 23 de agosto, ante el Presidente de la República y Patrono de la U. de Chile, Sebastián Piñera, y de integrantes de la comunidad universitaria, fue investido con la Medalla Universidad de Chile, oficializando así el inicio de un nuevo cuatrienio en el sillón de Bello.

Con una conferencia del ingeniero Álvaro Fischer y la publicación de los resultados del Concurso Escolar "Chile Secuencia a Chile", se realizó el lanzamiento del "Proyecto 1000 Genomas", estudio pionero en Latinoamérica a cargo de cinco centros de excelencia en investigación científica del país.

Stanford Law School today announced the appointment of retired Federal Judge Stephen Wm. Smith as Director, Fourth Amendment & Open Courts at the Center for Internet and Society (CIS).
