Beim neunten HHU Ideenwettbewerb können Studierende, Absolvent/innen, Wissenschaftler/innen sowie Mitarbeiter/innen aus allen Fachbereichen der HHU, der An-Institute und des Universitätsklinikums Düsseldorf zeigen, welche Ideen sie für ein erfolgversprechendes Startup haben. Und bereits zum vierten Mal wird von der Gesellschaft von Freunden und Förderern der HHU ein Startup Stipendium in Höhe von 50.000 Euro ausgelobt – neben der o.g. Zielgruppe können sich hier auch wieder ehemalige Angehörige der HHU aus dem Pool der HHU-Alumni bewerben.

In the debate on how to deal with the coronavirus pandemic, it is often forgotten: Taking responsibility and showing solidarity does not only mean taking care of one’s grandparents’ shopping and washing one’s hands carefully. April 2020 das "Virtuelle Beratungscenter" (VBC), das den Zugang zu Informationen für Studierende und Studieninteressierte erleichtern soll. Im Vordergrund stehen die persönliche sowie die psychologische Beratung.

Inhalt der Tagung waren neben der Wahl des neuen Vorsitzenden des Finnisten-Netzwerkes im deutschsprachigen Raum die Präsentation von aktuellen Lehr-Experimenten, Forschungsprojekten, Aktivitäten und Veröffentlichungen, die Planung von kollaborativen Projekten sowie Diskussionen um Lehrinhalte.
Umrahmt wurde die Tagung von einem kleinen kulturellen Programm wie einer Stadtführung, einer literarischen Gedichtpräsentation und eines kleinen Musikprogramms durch den Chor der finnischen Gemeinde in Düsseldorf sowie einem Grußwort des finnischen Honorarkonsuls Prof. Dr. Jürgen Kluge.

Beyer studierte nach dem Abitur Soziologie, Philosophie und Kulturwissenschaften an der Universität Leipzig. 2013 wurde er an der Georg-August-Universität Göttingen mit einer Arbeit über die Soziologie des Antiamerikanismus promoviert. 2015 erfolgte die Habilitation in Düsseldorf, danach war er zunächst als Akademischer Oberrat am Institut für Sozialwissenschaften, danach als Heinsberg-Stipendiat der Deutschen-Forschungsgemeinschaft an der Heinrich-Heine-Universität tätig.

Regina Schober wurde in Jülich geboren und studierte nach dem Abitur Englisch und Musik in Hannover. 2009 schloss sie dort ihre Promotion zum Thema Unexpected Chords: Musico-Poetic Intermediality in Amy Lowell’s Poetry and Poetics ab. 2010 wechselte sie an die Universität Mannheim. Dort habilitierte sie sich 2019 mit einer Arbeit über Spider Web, Labyrinth, Tightrope Walk: Networks in American Literature and Culture.
