Zur Debatte stehen an dem Abend die Europa-Vorschläge des französischen Staatspräsidenten Macron und der deutschen Bundeskanzlerin Merkel. Nach einer kurzen Diskussion auf dem Podium soll das Publikum in die Diskussion einbezogen.
Die Veranstaltung geht auf eine Initiative der französischen Botschaft in Berlin und deren Wissenschaftskoordinator Landry Charrier zurück, der an dem Abend auch ein Grußwort hält.

In diesem Jahr geht das TBK einen Tag länger: Am Mittwoch, 20. Juni 2018, erwarten die Teddydocs Kinder und ihre Kuscheltiere aus Düsseldorfer Flüchtlingsheimen. Este lunes 4 de junio, decenas de profesoras de la U. de Chile llegaron hasta la Casa Central para presentar el "Manifiesto y propuestas de igualdad de Género de las académicas de la U. de Chile". En el documento -suscrito por más de doscientas mujeres y entregado a la máxima autoridad universitaria- proponen medidas entre las que se encuentra la creación de un observatorio, el nombramiento de mujeres en cargos de responsabilidad y políticas de ingreso preferencial, las que devienen del diálogo y trabajo colaborativo sostenido en las últimas semanas.
