Gestörtes Mechanosensing durch Lebersternzellen trägt zu verminderter Leberregeneration im Alter bei

Die Wissenschaftlerinnen und Wissenschaftler konnten nun zeigen, dass α5/β1-Integrine als wichtige Mechanosensoren in Lebersternzellen (die mechanische Reize wahrnehmen) die Freisetzung eines Wachstumsfaktors für Leberzellen (hepatocyte growth factor, HGF) vermitteln, welcher für die Leberregeneration essentiell ist.
