Mit ihrem Stiftungsfest erinnert die Julius-Maximilians-Universität Würzburg (JMU) jedes Jahr an ihre lange Tradition: an die Gründung durch Fürstbischof Johann I. von Egloffstein im Jahr 1402 und an die Erneuerung der Gründung 1582 durch Fürstbischof Julius Echter von Mespelbrunn. Das Fest wurde am 11. Mai 2023 in der Neubaukirche gefeiert.

Unter den Hefepilzen aus der Gattung Candida, die Infektionen beim Menschen verursachen, ist die Art Candida auris noch relativ neu: Erst 2009 wurde diese Art beschrieben, und bis heute ist kein Nachweis vor den 1990er-Jahren bekannt. Es ist unklar, welche ökologische Nische C. auris besiedelt und warum es etwa seit der Jahrtausendwende vermehrt zu Infektionen des Menschen kommt.

The implementation of a national single window (SW) system in the Maldives is at an advanced stage. UNESCAP organized the training session “Navigating the Future of Trade: Mastering Single Window Implementation in Maldives” on 7-11 May 2023 to provide practical solutions for SW implementation in the country to equip participants to support the implementation efforts.
