UAM Small-Sided Soccer 2025
In Salzburg/Rif, the weekend of 21.6. – 22.6.2025 was all about the Unisport Austria Championships in small-sided soccer. Women’s and men’s teams from all over Austria battled it out for the respective titles. This year, the University of Klagenfurt was also represented by a women’s team. The women’s team achieved a respectable 5th place. The men’s team was eliminated in the semi-finals. They almost made it to the final for the first time. In the end, the team finished in 4th place.
In conclusion, a super weekend with great weather and a fantastic supporting program.

Carinthian Academic Championships – Boccia 2025
On Wednesday 18.6.2025 it was that time again. The Carinthian Academic Boccia Championships took place on the grounds of the USI Outdoor. A total of 19 teams took part. The game was played in three groups of 6. The first and second-placed teams in each group and the two best third-placed teams then progressed to the quarter-finals. In the semi-finals, the favored teams “KUGELSICHER” and ‘HausBoccen’ faced each other, with the “HausBoccen” team coming out on top. In the second semi-final, a purely Styrian pairing, “Reboot Rebels”, prevailed against the “dirty winners”.
Applications Now Open: PhD Scholarships on Australian Media Use
Scholarships now open for applications
Applications are now open for two scholarships at QUT’s Digital Media Research Centre.
These scholarship opportunities will investigate how 21st-century media changes and challenges the social role of media by gathering detailed evidence about how Australians use media (all forms, old and new).
Successful applicants will receive $37,010 per annum (domestic/international) for a maximum duration of 3.5 years while undertaking a QUT PhD.
Showcasing APAC Insights on Internet Safety and Governance on the Global Stage
Safer Internet Lab is returning to the Internet Governance Forum (IGF) for the third time. This year, in line with the main theme — Building Digital Governance Together — SAIL continues its efforts to contribute to digital governance through research and collaboration with fellow researchers across the Asia-Pacific region.

This common public sphere (Habermas) enables citizens to access facts, interpretations, and debates, which are a shared domain and define preconditions necessary for the legitimacy of democratic processes.
