ABSTRACT:

From 1 October 2025, employees of the University of Klagenfurt will be able to collect points with the ummadum app. As part of an EMAS initiative, the University will reward its employees for choosing sustainable mobility – i.e., riding a bike/scooter, public transport, ridesharing or walking – with up to 15 euros per month. To mark the launch of the initiative, there will also be an opportunity to win vouchers as prizes – University employees can take part in the Green Campus Challenge from 1 to 31 October 2025 and win!

Die Autoren präsentieren die neue Diagnostik im renommierten German Journal of Exercise and Sport Research.

Für ihre Studie haben Forschende der Julius-Maximilians-Universität Würzburg (JMU) gemeinsam mit der Bayerischen Landesanstalt für Landwirtschaft und Bioland 29 Sonnenblumenfelder in Nordbayern analysiert – 15 ökologisch und 14 konventionell bewirtschaftet. Sie wollten wissen, welche Faktoren wildlebende Bestäuber beeinflussen und wie sich das auf die landwirtschaftlichen Erträge auswirkt. Dabei berücksichtigten sie sowohl die Bedingungen in einzelnen Feldern als auch die Struktur der umliegenden Landschaft.

When we go for walks in the forest, we try to leave our digitized everyday lives behind us but work in forestry has long since been digitized. Data is collected by sensor networks, drones, satellites, and, above all, large forestry machines such as harvesters. This data is of great interest for increasing the efficiency of the timber industry and optimizing planning, for example in sawmills, but above all for protecting the forest and adapting it to the intensifying climate change. However, there are numerous obstacles to sharing this data.

“I never change the terminology. I refuse to censor myself or the educational content I share online. If we replace words like ‘clitoris’ or ‘vagina,’ we’re simply recreating the same taboos we’re trying to break from.”
