Pfeiffer ist Lehrstuhlinhaberin für Soziologie an der Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg mit dem Schwerpunkt Technik, Arbeit und Gesellschaft. Die bidt-Direktorin beschäftigt sich seit Langem damit, wie der digitale Wandel unsere Art zu arbeiten verändert.
