Theresa TschaukoFrom 9 to 12 September 2026, the 54th Congress of the German Psychological Society (DGPs) took place in Luxembourg. Theresa Tschauko from the research group Organizational Behavior and Human Resource Management participated in the congress with a presentation.
As part of the symposium “Presenteeism: Investigating the Role of Health, Motivation, and Organizational Factors on Workplace Attendance,” she presented the contribution “Menstrual Pain and Work: A Multi-Wave Study on Stigma, Disclosure, and Presenteeism.” The symposium brought together four contributions examining health-related, motivational, and organizational factors influencing presenteeism from different perspectives.
The presented contribution was co-authored with Alexandra (Sasha) Cook from the University of Amsterdam and Alexander Zill from Mittweida University of Applied Sciences. Theresa Tschauko presented findings from a longitudinal study on menstrual-related presenteeism. The presentation focused in particular on the disclosure of menstrual symptoms to colleagues and supervisors, as well as on how individual, social, and organizational factors are related to presenteeism and employees’ tendency to continue working despite experiencing symptoms.
The congress also provided an opportunity for academic exchange with researchers from different areas of psychology and for discussing current research projects.
