The Canadian Multistakeholder Process: Enhancing IoT Security meeting takes place in Ottawa today, November 20th, from 1PM-5PM EST.
This is the fourth session in a year-long series. The meetings have been convened to develop recommendations for a set of norms/policy to secure the Internet of Things in Canada and are a joint initiative of The Internet Society; Innovation, Science and Economic Development; the Canadian Internet Registration Authority; CANARIE; and CIPPIC.

Miriam Ventura (UFRJ), Adriana Vidal (PUC - Rio), Hildete Pereira de Melo (UFF) e Thiago Amparo (FGV Direito SP), como moderador.

Debate foi realizado no 2º dia do eventoO I Congresso Internacional de Direito e Gênero da FGV Direito Rio, que foi realizado em dois dias, contou com um painel sobre “Gênero, ‘Raça’e Migração”. Fizeram parte da mesa, Vanessa Berner (UFRJ), Florian Hoffman (PUC-Rio), Adriana Cruz (Juíza Federal), Thula Pires (PUC-Rio) e Ynaê Lopes dos Santos (CPDOC), como moderadora.

Jüngste, multimedial debattierte Ereignisse rund um das Genre Hip-Hop und den sogenannten Battle-Rap beweisen das konfliktreiche Potenzial des Populären. Als der amerikanische Rapper Kendrick Lamar am 12. April 2018 den Pulitzer-Preis für Musik bekam, wurde dies mit der Tatsache begründet, dass er als „subversiver Künstler“ in der Lage sei, die „Komplexität des afro-amerikanischen Lebens“ auszudrücken.

Der Kurzfilm-Wettbewerb wird seit 2003 jährlich von Studierenden der Medien- und Kulturwissenschaft organisiert und zählt zu den bekanntesten Kurzfilm-Wettbewerben NRWs. Dank knapp 800 Filmeinsendungen von NachwuchsfilmemacherInnen erwartet die BesucherInnen auch in diesem Jahr wieder ein internationales, sorgfältig kuratiertes Programm. Mit einer Länge zwischen je 3 und 30 Minuten bewegen sich die Kurzfilme in allen Genres, die der Film zu bieten hat. Abgerundet wird die Veranstaltung durch ein buntes Rahmenprogramm unter anderem mit jungen Singersongwritern aus NRW.

Bereits von 2013 bis 2016 gehörte Prof. Dr. Weißenberger dem Vorstand des Verbands der Hochschullehrer für Betriebswirtschaft e.V. an, den sie von 2015 bis 2016 als Vorsitzende leitete.

A Roadmap to Digital Urban Governance

In der Vortragsreihe „Biologie aktuell“ stellen Forscherinnen und Forscher der HHU und ihrer Partnerinstitutionen aktuelle Themen aus der Biologie und verwandten Wissenschaften einem breiten Publikum vor. Die Reihe wurde 2005 im Rahmen der Lehrerfortbildung des Botanischen Gartens ins Leben gerufen. Mittlerweile gehört sie zum festen Angebot der Wissenschaftlichen Einrichtung Biologie und wird von Prof. Dr. Ursula Fleig (Institut für Funktionelle Genomforschung der Mikroorganismen) und Dr. Sabine Etges (wissenschaftliche Leiterin des Botanischen Gartens) konzipiert und koordiniert.

Die fortschreitende Digitalisierung stellt auch etablierte Großunternehmen wie SAP vor Herausforderungen. Mit neuen Technologien gewinnen neue Geschäftsmodelle an Bedeutung, was sich auch auf die Mitarbeiter der Unternehmen auswirkt. Der Vortrag behandelt zum einen die Frage, wie sich das SAP-Geschäft durch die Digitalisierung entwickelt, zum anderen aber auch, welche Rolle der Finanzbereich und seine Mitarbeiter dabei spielen: Technologische Veränderungen bedingen auch Transformationen in der Organisation, in der Unternehmenskultur und auf Mitarbeiterebene.
