University of Trier 13-15 October 2021As in previous years, the Kant Research Centre at the University of Trier will be holding the Trier Kant Colloquium. This time, the focus will be on the last piece Kant had published himself, "Der Streit der Fakultäten" ("The Dispute of the Faculties"), in which he attempts to clarify the relationship of the faculties in relation to each other, but above all the task and role of the philosophical faculty. In lectures on all three parts of this piece, its contents will be presented, contextualised and put up for discussion.

Today we are delighted to announce that the Board of Directors of Open Knowledge Foundation has appointed Renata Avila to be the new CEO of Open Knowledge Foundation – effective from October 4th 2021.
Board Chair, Vanessa Barnett, said that Renata was selected after a long and extremely competitive process, over many months.

8 October 2021, San Francisco, California — The Wikimedia Foundation today announced the appointment of two new Vice Presidents: Anusha Alikhan as Vice President of Communications, and Margeigh Novotny as Vice President of Product Design. The Wikimedia Foundation is the nonprofit organization that supports Wikipedia and other free knowledge projects. With this news, both Anusha and Margeigh build on their established tenure at the Foundation and step into expanded leadership roles supporting the broader free knowledge movement.

Este jueves 30 de septiembre se conoció una resolución de la autoridad sanitaria para suspender los recursos destinados a la realización de funciones relacionadas con la aplicación de la búsqueda activa de casos (BAC) y del testeo de casos sospechosos en el país.

El órgano constituyente ya cuenta con un Reglamento General y uno de Ética aprobados. Resta deliberar, durante la primera semana de octubre, los reglamentos de participación indígena y popular. Luego de ello, vendrá una semana territorial, donde cada convencional deberá llevar adelante trabajo de consulta e interacción con la ciudadanía. From the continuing COVID-19 pandemic through the aftermath of the US election to the influence of problematic state and commercial actors, 2021 has been marked by substantial concerns about the impact of mis- and disinformation on individuals, groups, and society as a whole.

This seminar is focused on sharing Indigenous journeys in research, universities and the online space, particularly Blak social media. A small group of Indigenous researchers will yarn on stage, sharing their experiences of Indigenous research (methods, principles, practices etc) focused on Indigenous sovereignty, voices, knowledge and experiences, and how media and digital approaches can be/have been included in these.
