Seen in this light, as ‘Mammon’, it stands between us and what could otherwise be a rich connection to the social and natural world. Here at eFin & Demokratie, we have been exploring the Digitalgelddickicht with you for years now, and what we find there is not money itself, but payment infrastructures and technologies, a wide variety of services and stakeholders of all sizes, and a diverse range of national and international regulatory approaches. And we also find: utopias.

Warum ist der Hefepilz Candida auris in nur wenigen Jahren weltweit zu einem gefährlichen Krankheitserreger geworden? Diese Frage treibt viele Forschende um. Carla Schuh und Chaitanya Gokhale vom Biozentrum der Universität Würzburg fassen nun den aktuellen Wissensstand in einem Übersichtsartikel im Fachjournal mSphere zusammen. Dafür haben sie rund 180 Studien anderer Forschender ausgewertet.
Die beiden Forschenden hegen einen Verdacht: Ihrer Auffassung nach könnte es sein, dass es der Klimawandel ist, der den Pilz überhaupt erst infektiös gemacht hat.
