Laurence Pollier
With three decades at the forefront of international climate policy, my career has been shaped by a deep commitment to sustainability, multilateralism, and effective international cooperation. During my time at UN Climate Change, I contributed to supporting Parties in advancing global efforts to prevent and respond to the impacts of climate change, mindful of the profound implications of climate change for the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals.
As a strategic advisor and team lead coordinating negotiations under the Paris Agreement, the Kyoto Protocol, and the Subsidiary Body for Implementation (SBI), I worked to facilitate inclusive dialogue and provide actionable policy guidance. This role involved both strategic leadership and operational oversight in complex multilateral settings. My in-depth understanding of international climate processes enabled me to support negotiators and leaders in navigating the intricate landscape of global climate diplomacy, drawing on my working languages of French, English, and German.
Throughout my career, I have demonstrated strong leadership and a recognized ability to exercise influence without formal authority. I helped deliver major international conferences, designed and implemented the first UNFCCC digital negotiation platform through the Climate Dialogues during the COVID-19 pandemic, advised senior climate leaders, catalyzed youth engagement in the UNFCCC process, and trained and mentored a new generation of negotiators.
Today, I work as an independent consultant, providing strategic advice and training on international negotiations. Building on decades of experience in multilateral diplomacy, I support institutions, leaders, and negotiators in strengthening their capacity to navigate complex negotiation processes and achieve effective outcomes.
Passionate about innovation and efficiency, I have always sought to approach challenges differently when it means delivering better results.
