In einer Population von Bakterien sind nicht alle Individuen identisch. Manche stehen vielleicht kurz vor einer Zellteilung, andere differenzieren sich aus, wieder andere sind im Begriff, sich an veränderte Umweltbedingungen anzupassen. Gerade mit Blick auf Krankheitserreger ist es der Forschung wichtig, diese Vielfalt innerhalb einer Bakterienpopulation so gut wie möglich zu verstehen. Denn dieses Wissen kann dabei helfen, verbesserte Therapien zu entwickeln.

A USI tiebreak tournament was held for the first time on 30.04.2025. The tournament was played in the women’s singles, men’s singles and doubles competitions.
Theresa TSCHAUKO won the women’s competition ahead of Tanja TSCHEINIG. Niclas DÖNGES beat Gerd TATZER in the men’s singles. Jan SCHWIDDESSEN and Niclas DÖNGES were crowned doubles winners. Lucas ROGER and Gerd TATZER came second in the doubles. Bronze went to the pairing of Manuel KÜNSTNER and Philipp KNEISSL.

Dass die Landwirtschaft zum Rückgang der Artenvielfalt bei Insekten beiträgt, ist längst bekannt. Der Verlust von Futterpflanzen, häufiges Mähen und der Einsatz von Pestiziden entziehen vielen Arten ihren Lebensraum.
Ein Forschungsteam der Julius-Maximilians-Universität Würzburg (JMU) hat nun mit neuen Analysemethoden herausgefunden, dass sich die landwirtschaftliche Nutzung noch gravierender auf die Insektenvielfalt auswirkt als bisher angenommen. Grundlage war die Analyse aller Insektenarten aus 400 Familien, gesammelt in unterschiedlichsten Lebensräumen in Bayern.

Reworking the Situationist heritage and applying it to our time, many of the approaches presented here extend beyond the city and physical environments into the virtual dimensions of digital socialities, identifying new forces of power and potential sources of emancipation.
