From the scientific and industrial revolution to the present day, food – an essential element of life – has been progressively transformed into a private, transnational, mono-dimensional commodity of mass consumption for a global market. But over the last decade there has been an increased recognition that this can be challenged and reconceptualized if food is regarded and enacted as a commons.

After almost a decade, the Internet Governance Forum (IGF) remains a cornerstone of international Internet and local governance with participation from over 140 countries. The approach of the IGF is simple: anyone who has a stake in the future of the Internet can go and be heard. It was founded and operates on the principles of being bottom-up, transparent, and inclusive.

New technologies like AI open up a lot of chances but also bear many risks. Couldn’t we just learn how to deal with this from science-fiction films having already played through the major issues of AI? Unfortunately not. Rather than give advice, science-fiction distracts from the currently relevant ethical and legal challenges of AI and the socio-political implications.

We-Guild is a project to develop a platform for self-employed people to get sick-pay. A platform where everyone you trust chips in when you need it in exchange of you chipping in for them when they need it.

Die HHU möchte Studienzweifler künftig noch besser unterstützen und lädt zu einem BarCamp ein. Teilnehmen kann jeder, der sich für das Thema Zweifel am Studium, den Umgang damit und Unterstützungsangebote interessiert und sich vorab angemeldet hat.

Cada año los estudiantes de nuestro plantel organizan diferentes trabajos voluntarios en verano, y este 2019 no será la excepción. Conoce aquí cuáles serán algunos de ellos, en qué consistirán y cómo participar.Desde hace décadas, los estudiantes de la Universidad de Chile aprovechan los meses de verano para realizar iniciativas de voluntariado en distintas localidades del país, aplicando los conocimientos aprendidos en el desarrollo de proyectos que buscan mejorar la calidad de vida de las personas.
