Académicos y académicas de ambas instituciones realizaron ocho talleres de discusión y trabajo en derecho civil, sistemas financieros, informática, ciencias políticas y sociales, gestión hospitalaria, estudios latinoamericanos, educación en matemáticas y respuesta ante desastres.

La sarcopenia, patología que actualmente afecta a más de 50 millones de personas en el mundo, es causante de caídas, hospitalizaciones y con ello de pérdida de autonomía de personas de la tercera edad. Es por ello que un equipo del Instituto de Nutrición de Tecnología de los Alimentos (INTA) creó un modelo predictivo de alta efectividad y bajo costo que, mediante un software, logra diagnosticarlo en la atención primaria, ayudando a la prevención de sus consecuencias y a la entrega de un tratamiento oportuno.Como un sistema de medición costo- efectivo.

La competencia busca aproximar a los alumnos y alumnas de enseñanza media a las principales discusiones en torno al derecho, tales como la posibilidad de una jurisdicción indígena o la opción de que menores de edad accedan al cambio de nombre a través del Registro Civil, entre otras temáticas.

Eckart Zimmermann (Jahrgang 1978) studierte an der HHU, in seiner Diplomarbeit aus dem Jahr 2005 beschäftigte er sich mit der visuellen Vorstellungskraft. Anschließend promovierte er 2009 an der Westfälischen Wilhelms-Universität Münster. Zusätzlich schloss er im selben Jahr den philosophischen Magister am Philosophischen Institut der HHU ab.
Für zwei Jahre forschte er ab Oktober 2009 in Italien und als Postdoc am Institut für Neurowissenschaften in Pisa. Am Forschungszentrum Jülich arbeitete er von 2012 bis 2016 als Postdoc im Bereich kognitive Neurowissenschaft.

Der heiße und trockene Sommer 2018 hat auch in Deutschland vor Augen geführt, vor welchen großen Herausforderungen die Landwirtschaft angesichts des Klimawandels steht: Getreide, Gemüse und Futterpflanzen verdorrten auf den Äckern und Weiden, die Ernteerträge in diesem Jahr werden erheblich geringer ausfallen als in den Vorjahren. Solche Sommer werden in den kommenden Jahren kein Einzelfall bleiben, sondern zur Regel werden.

As part of our work in the University of Washington’s Information and Communications Technology for Development (ICTD) Lab, we recently spent four weeks in Bokondini, a village in the Papuan Highlands. During our time in Bokondini, we helped some community members extend Internet access throughout the village via a community LTE network, using a technology stack that we call CoLTE (for Community LTE).

Gerhard Jocham wurde 1975 im baden-württembergischen Wangen geboren. Er studierte von 1996 bis 2002 an der Universität Konstanz sowie an der HHU Psychologie. In Düsseldorf promovierte er 2007 auch am Institut für Physiologische Psychologie. Nach der Promotion arbeitete er als Post-Doktorand, zunächst bis 2010 am Max-Planck-Institut für neurologische Forschung in Köln, dann bis 2013 an der University of Oxford am Centre for Functional Magnetic Resonance Imaging of the Brain (FMRIB).

 Das Gehirn ist das Organ mit dem höchsten Energieverbrauch pro Kilogramm Körpergewicht. Seine Funktion ist strikt abhängig von einer konstanten Versorgung mit Sauerstoff und Nährstoffen. Wird der Blutfluss zum Gehirn nur für wenige Minuten unterbrochen, führt dies zu irreversiblen neuronalen Schäden. Bekanntestes Beispiel ist der Schlaganfall: Hier kommt es durch den Verschluss einer Gehirnarterie zu einer massiven Unterversorgung bestimmter Teile des Gehirns, was zum Absterben von Nervenzellen und damit zu zum Teil großen neurologischen Beeinträchtigungen führt.

In einer neuen Folge des ITM-Podcasts setzt sich Prof. Dr. Thomas Hoeren mit den datenschutzrechtlichen Herausforderungen für Ärzte und medizinische Dienste auseinander. Hierbei räumt er mit Irrglauben bezüglich der Datenschutzgrundverordnung (DS-GVO) auf und stellt die wesentlichen Pflichten für Ärzte und medizinische Dienste dar, die sich aus dem harmonisierten Datenschutzrecht ergeben.

Encabezada por el Rector Ennio Vivaldi, la ceremonia ratificó el compromiso institucional con la memoria, la reparación, la verdad y la justicia que se ha venido desarrollando en los últimos años, y a partir del cual otros 101 estudiantes ya fueron distinguidos en abril de este año, en un proceso que continúa abierto.
