On 15 April, Věra Jourová, European Commission Vice-President for Values and Transparency, visited Greece as part of her Democracy Tour. During this tour, the Vice-President travelled to several European capitals to exchange views with stakeholders on how to better protect the information space in light of the upcoming European elections and the European Commission’s recent democracy package.

Das antimikrobielle Potenzial von CRISPR-Cas-Systemen ist vielversprechend. Allerdings ist noch wenig darüber bekannt, wie sich die unterschiedlichen CRISPR-Nukleasen am besten einsetzen lassen. Ein internationales Team unter der Leitung von Forschenden des Helmholtz-Instituts für RNA-basierte Infektionsforschung (HIRI) in Würzburg hat sich dieser Wissenslücke nun angenommen: Am Beispiel von multiresistenten und hypervirulenten Bakterien hat es erstmals systematisch CRISPR-basierte antimikrobielle Wirkstoffe untersucht.

Mit der erfolgreichen Einwerbung der Projektverlängerung kann WueDive ein weiteres zentrales Kapitel aufschlagen. In den vergangenen drei Jahren hat das Team über 40 Teilprojekte begleitet und mit vielfältiger interdisziplinärer Expertise und unter breiter Beteiligung von Lehrenden und Studierenden Ideen für die digitale Lehre an der Julius-Maximilians-Universität Würzburg (JMU) bedarfsorientiert umgesetzt und weiterentwickelt.

The two-day workshop “Future Proofing the Public Sphere,” held on March 21-22, 2024, at QUT’s Kelvin Grove campus, successfully convened a diverse group of researchers dedicated to public sphere research. This event was co-organised by Dr. Katharina Esau from QUT’s Digital Media Research Centre and Dr. Adele Webb from the University of Canberra’s Centre for Deliberative Democracy and Global Governance.
