For demonstrating the utility of index-based assessments of future readiness in action, Central America emerges as an ideal yet challenging case study. Central America hosts economies of varying income levels, from high-income countries like Panama to lower-middle income countries like Honduras. As a region, Central America faces many similar obstacles to its constituent governments, societies and economies, from issues of internal and international displacement to endemic political violence and corruption.

En este período, marcado por la pandemia y el protagonismo de la actividad "online" en nuestras vidas, Mercado Libre se convirtió en el e-commerce más concurrido del país, con 97 millones de visitas mensuales.

Esta semana continuó la discusión sobre el llamado proyecto de ley de muerte digna en la Comisión de Salud de la Cámara de Diputados, iniciativa que busca regular la eutanasia en Chile.

Un día como hoy, hace 110 años, estudiantes de la Casa de Bello y egresados del Internado Barros Arana crearon este club de fútbol universitario con la finalidad de competir en los torneos oficiales de la Asociación de Fútbol de Santiago.

El reporte indica que en las últimas cuatro semanas el aumento de casos nuevos a nivel nacional ha sido de 69,8 por ciento. Esta situación ha mantenido al indicador de carga de la enfermedad en rojo, con un valor que triplica los 10 casos nuevos por cien mil habitantes, alcanzando así los valores máximos en lo que va de la pandemia. La ocupación hospitalaria ha llegado a niveles críticos.

La semana pasada se anunció el segundo decreto de esta normativa que busca redefinir el enfoque de la gestión de residuos en Chile con metas progresivas hacia el año 2030. A partir de esta Ley, las industrias y productores deberán hacerse cargo de recolectar y reciclar los materiales que vengan asociados a sus bienes de consumo, medida que busca abordar el problema de los más de 2 millones de toneladas de residuos de envases y embalajes que se generan actualmente en Chile, de los cuales solo un 27 por ciento se reciclan.

The first Workshop will take place digitally (via zoom) on the 16th April 2021, 1-4 pm. Together with scholars and experts from different countries of the Global South and the Global North, we want to evaluate how Digital Technology systems and processes are already being, or plan to be, implemented in education in Brazil (and other regions in the Global South), and what are the challenges and opportunities of this process. Furthermore, we have the following guiding questions:

Am 31. März 2021 ist Würzburgs Universitätspräsident Alfred Forchel nach fast zwölf Jahren im Amt in den Ruhestand getreten. Am 1. April übernimmt sein Nachfolger Paul Pauli die Amtsgeschäfte.
Paul Pauli wird die Julius-Maximilians-Universität Würzburg (JMU) in den kommenden Jahren gemeinsam mit den neuen Vizepräsidentinnen Doris Fischer, Caroline Kisker und Anja Schlömerkemper, den neuen Vizepräsidenten Matthias Bode und Andreas Dörpinghaus sowie mit dem bisherigen Kanzler Uwe Klug leiten.
