Könnte dies einen Wandel in unserer Sichtweise auf die Krebstherapie bedeuten? Zumindest im Labor deuten die Ergebnisse darauf hin. Einem internationalen Forscherteam ist es gelungen, einen wichtigen Mechanismus zu entschlüsseln, der das Wachstum von Bauchspeicheldrüsenkrebs steuert. Die Wissenschaftlerinnen und Wissenschaftler identifizierten einen möglicherweise zentralen Mechanismus, mit dem sich Krebszellen vor Angriffen des körpereigenen Immunsystems schützen. Die Blockade dieses Mechanismus führte zu einer dramatischen Verringerung der Tumore bei Labortieren.
The roundtable “Who controls the news in the age of AI”, hosted by MediaLaws, DICOPO and DigCon, brought into sharp focus a central issue of our time: how the governance of AI-mediated information reshapes democratic structures, media pluralism, and constitutional values.

Ein Forschungsteam unter Federführung der Julius-Maximilians-Universität Würzburg (JMU) hat nun in einer umfassenden Analyse die bayerische Insektenwelt untersucht. Auf 179 über den Freistaat verteilten Flächen haben die Wissenschaftlerinnen und Wissenschaftler mittels modernster DNA-Bestimmungsmethoden rund 12.000 genetische Einheiten aus 450 Familien identifiziert.

Sifting through hundreds of new AI tools and applications, it’s difficult to justify all the components that go into the training of these models and quell concerns they raise over environmental impact, data privacy, and copyright protection.

I met Kenzo Soares through an online call, as he is currently a Resident Fellow at the Information Society Project (ISP) at Yale Law School. Kenzo is a carioca—a son of Rio de Janeiro—who has worked extensively on platform workers’ rights. He is also deeply knowledgeable about the political economy of Latin America from a Marxist perspective. During the call, which I took from the Fundação Getulio Vargas in São Paulo, we ended up passionately discussing platformization in Latin America, shifting from the intimate to the technological and the geopolitical.
