Forschende des Rudolf-Virchow-Zentrums (RVZ) der Julius-Maximilians-Universität Würzburg (JMU) haben herausgefunden, dass diese Funktion des Vitamins auch eine Kehrseite hat: Sie schützt auch Krebszellen.

Vor 131 Jahren entdeckte der Physiker Wilhelm Conrad Röntgen in Würzburg die nach ihm benannten Strahlen und ermöglichte damit völlig neue Verfahren zur Darstellung des menschlichen Körpers. Nun hat in Würzburg ein interdisziplinäres Team aus Physik und Radiologie einen weiteren wichtigen Meilenstein in der medizinischen Bildgebung erreicht. Die Forschenden demonstrierten erstmals am Menschen eine neuartige Technologie: die Magnetpartikelbildgebung (MPI, englisch: Magnetic Particle Imaging).

O LAPIN apresentou uma contribuição à Subcomissão da Assembleia Legislativa do Rio Grande do Sul que analisa os impactos socioambientais da instalação de data centers no estado, com foco no projeto previsto para Eldorado do Sul. O documento busca subsidiar os trabalhos da Subcomissão, apontando lacunas como a ausência de participação social estruturada, incentivos fiscais sem benefícios públicos claros, falta de transparência em indicadores socioambientais e o uso de mecanismos compensatórios sem redução efetiva de danos.
