Michael Reiss successfully defended his cumulative dissertation
On Friday, January 10, 2025, the eagerly anticipated Carinthian Academic Mixed Volleyball Championships took place in the Waidmannsdorf Sports Hall. Ten teams competed for the prestigious title of “Carinthian Academic Champion.” The preliminary round featured two groups of five teams, providing an exciting and diverse group phase. The top teams advanced to the Upper Play-Off to determine the finalists, while the Lower Play-Off decided the final rankings for the remaining teams.
On Monday, January 13, 2025, the Academic Ski and Winter Adventure Day took place at Goldeck under glorious weather conditions. As part of this event, the Carinthian Academic Championships in skiing and snowboarding were held. On a challenging course, the winners were determined in the following categories: Ski Women 40+, Ski Women under 40, Ski Men 40+, Ski Men under 40, as well as Snowboard Women and Men. Congratulations to all the winners!

The Centre for Media Pluralism and Media Freedom (CMPF) has launched a new project to evaluate the feasibility of a European News Streaming Platform (ENSP). This AI-assisted, multilingual platform would be free and accessible to all EU citizens, aiming to enhance their access to quality, independent media. A team of six academics at the CMPF is leading the research, focusing on the platform’s legal and economic viability.
