Ihr Forschungsgebiet, die Röntgen-Quantenoptik, nutzt die extrem kurzwellige Röntgenstrahlung statt sichtbarem Licht zur Erforschung winzigster Teilchen. Das könnte für zerstörungsfreie Abbildungsverfahren relevant werden und leistet einen entscheidenden Beitrag zur quantenphysikalischen Grundlagenforschung.

La nouvelle est officiellement tombée vendredi. Le professeur Nicolas Vermeys sera le 01 juin 2022 le prochain directeur du CRDP. En effet, suite à une présentation devant un comité multi-universitaire et après une validation du Comité exécutif de l’Université de Montréal dans la mesure où les nouveaux statuts restent à être confirmés, sa candidature fut retenue au grand bonheur de chacun d’entre nous. Nicolas était en effet la personne toute désignée pour ce faire.

The DMRC’s Dr T.J. Thomson was one of two dozen academics announced in April as members of the 2022 fellowship class of the PhDigital Bootcamp, delivered by Texas State University and sponsored by the Knight Foundation.

The 3th of April was the day when all of the world had seen the photos, videos and witnesses of the massacre by russian murderers in Bucha. My social networks accounts were full of “sensitive content” that day, the hashtags #bucha and #buchamassacre blocked by platforms because of extreme violence imprinted in these pictures: tortured people with hands tied behind their back, bodies of citizens lying down on the streets, some of them were killed while riding a bicycle, some with proviant they were carrying home. Raped women and children. Shot animals.

Sowt and the Wikimedia Foundation, have partnered  to produce a new season of Sowt’s podcast Manbet. Hosted and written by veteran content creator Bisher Najjar, the educational podcast explores various topics from the fields of humanities and society.
