BLACK BOX EAST is the project of the Berliner Gazette that was oriented towards uncovering the latent material and ideological structures that keep the eastern, post-communist areas as the (exploited) “Other” years after the Cold War has ended. The name of the project reflects the processes of mystifying “the East” that in turn serve to conceal the unethical, exploitative, and imperialist practices of privatization and globalization of Western capitalism.

Der ZONTA-Club Würzburg verlieh in diesem Jahr gleich drei Wissenschaftspreise an junge Forscherinnen der Julius-Maximilians-Universität (JMU) Würzburg. Die Preisverleihung fand am 13. Oktober 2021 im Würzburger Helmholtz-Institut für RNA-basierte Infektionsforschung (HIRI) statt. Überreicht wurden dabei zwei Wissenschaftspreise für 2021 sowie der letztjährige ZONTA-Wissenschaftspreis, dessen Verleihung 2020 aufgrund der Corona-Lage abgesagt werden musste.
