Syria: Digital Safety Tips from SMEX’s Helpdesk

The recent circulation of an audio recording, allegedly from a Druze religious leader in Syria insulting Prophet Muhammad, is being cited as a catalyst for rising sectarian tensions in the country. Despite both Muslim and Druze authorities recognizing the voice message as an attempt to ignite sectarian strife, mounting tensions in Druze-majority towns have led to the killing of over 70 people on both sides.

In einer Population von Bakterien sind nicht alle Individuen identisch. Manche stehen vielleicht kurz vor einer Zellteilung, andere differenzieren sich aus, wieder andere sind im Begriff, sich an veränderte Umweltbedingungen anzupassen. Gerade mit Blick auf Krankheitserreger ist es der Forschung wichtig, diese Vielfalt innerhalb einer Bakterienpopulation so gut wie möglich zu verstehen. Denn dieses Wissen kann dabei helfen, verbesserte Therapien zu entwickeln.

USI Tiebreak-Tournament

A USI tiebreak tournament was held for the first time on 30.04.2025. The tournament was played in the women’s singles, men’s singles and doubles competitions.
Theresa TSCHAUKO won the women’s competition ahead of Tanja TSCHEINIG. Niclas DÖNGES beat Gerd TATZER in the men’s singles. Jan SCHWIDDESSEN and Niclas DÖNGES were crowned doubles winners. Lucas ROGER and Gerd TATZER came second in the doubles. Bronze went to the pairing of Manuel KÜNSTNER and Philipp KNEISSL.
