This symposium brings together researchers and industry stakeholders from around Australia in a hybrid in-person and online event to share insights into how to improve digital inclusion for low-income families around the country.
Leading academics and industry partners including Good Things Foundation Australia, The Smith Family, Infoxchange, yourtown, Telstra, Save the Children Australia, Life Without Barriers, State Library of Queensland and NBN Co will engage in presentations and panels about low-income Australians’ access to and use of digital media and technologies.

Food waste costs Australia $36.6 billion annually, with almost $20 billion generated by households (FIAL, 2021). QUT researchers say social media campaigns can change food waste behaviours but are best included alongside other intervention tools for long-term impact.

In the project "Orientation to the Common Good in the Age of Digitalization: Transformation Narratives between Planetary Boundaries and Artificial Intelligence", anthropological and ethical concepts with a focus on artificial intelligence were analyzed and developed, and based on this, new entrances into narratives that create meaning (narratives) for social change processes (transformations) were created.
