Uno de los insectos más llamativos de nuestro país es la chinita, de las cuales existen alrededor de 100 especies en nuestro país, muchas de ellas endémicas. Sin embargo, desde el 2003 se registra la presencia de la "Harmonia axyridis" también conocida como chinita arlequín o asiática, una especie invasora que ha sido introducida en diferentes países como un controlador de plagas agrícolas como los pulgones. Lamentablemente su voracidad y gran tamaño genera problemas tanto a las otras chinitas, como a cultivos y seres humanos.

El último informe elaborado por las y los expertos de ICOVID Chile muestra una heterogeneidad y asincronía en la epidemia a nivel nacional, con diferencias al comparar las diferentes zonas del país. Mientras se constata una baja en el número de casos nuevos a nivel nacional, determinada fuertemente por los valores de las regiones de Coquimbo, Valparaíso y Metropolitana, se mantiene preocupación por la carga en las regiones de Arica, Atacama y Magallanes.

El profesor de la Facultad de Ciencias, Ricardo Maccioni, es el líder del proyecto a partir del cual a partir del próximo año -esperan los científicos- los pacientes podrán conocer si padecen la enfermedad, e incluso predecir si la desarrollarán en el futuro. Todo esto en base a la detección del comportamiento de una molécula clave en el desarrollo de la enfermedad: la proteína TAU.Una muestra de sangre mínimamente invasiva, como cualquier otro examen de rutina.

Desde hace algunas semanas, los casos detectados de COVID-19 en nuestro país mantienen un promedio de 1.100 a 1.700 casos diarios.

Según cifras del Ministerio de Educación, de los más de 11 mil establecimientos educacionales que funcionan en el país, 47 ya abrieron sus puertas y están realizando clases de manera presencial. No deal: A U.S. judge has temporarily blocked President Donald Trump’s order to ban Chinese app TikTok from the Apple and Android app stores, CNBC reports. Trump has argued that the app is a security risk. Oracle and Walmart are in talks to buy a piece of TikTok’s U.S. operations as a way to appease Trump, though it appears that there’s disagreement with Chinese owner ByteDance over the outlines of a deal.
