A virtual gap: Homeless advocates and legal groups have sued New York City for a lack of reliable Internet access in the city’s 27 homeless shelters, Reuters on WTVBam.com reports. Thousands of students living in the homeless shelters are struggling to keep up with virtual school during the COVID-19 pandemic, the plaintiffs say. The city has promised to install WiFi service in the shelters.

En el marco del aniversario N°178 de nuestro plantel y del contexto que vive el país, Pablo Bello -director de Políticas Públicas de la popular aplicación de mensajería en la región- sostiene que "es el momento en que tenemos la historia en nuestras manos. Nunca antes la habíamos tenido con tanta claridad y tenemos que hacerlo bien, y para hacerlo bien necesitamos a la Universidad".

La profesional - quien inició su formación en la Escuela de Periodismo de la Universidad de Chile- y es fundadora del Centro de Investigación Periodística (CIPER) obtuvo este reconocimiento, organizado por el diario El País de España, en la categoría Trayectoria Profesional.

Después de 27 años, la U. de Chile llegó a acuerdo con CHV para recuperar su señal. El canal -público y de impronta experimental, innovadora, educativa y cultural- será sostenible y de bajo costo. La infraestructura de transmisión será facilitada por CHV, y la programación sostenida a través del contenido que la Casa de Bello ya genera actualmente.
