Healthcare systems across the world are investing heavily in analytics (and by extension artificial intelligence), yet policymakers and hospital leaders continue to struggle with a central question: where do these investments generate the greatest value, and how long should we expect to wait for returns? A recent study by Abhijith Anand, Senior Research Fellow at Portulans with his coauthors Magno Queiroz, and Rajiv Kohli, published in MIS Quarterly, offers rigorous empirical evidence that helps answer this question.

Die Konsortien setzen sich in der Regel aus drei (mindestens zwei) wissenschaftlichen Parteien unterschiedlicher Disziplinen zusammen, wobei eine Konsortialpartnerin oder ein Konsortialpartner einen technikwissenschaftlichen Hintergrund aufweisen soll.

Christian Zwatz, researcher in the joint FWF-DFG Weave Project „GLASS – Global Augmented State Space Error Correction Model“ by Martin Wagner (EAOR/QED) und Dietmar Bauer (University of Bielefeld), successfully completed his PhD studies in December with his dissertation entitled “Topics On Autocorrelation Robust Testing and Spatial Models”. She is hosted by the Faculty of Social and Behavioural Sciences within the Programme Group Work and Organizational Psychology.

Eine aktuelle Studie eines Forscherteams der Universität Oxford, erschienen im Fachjournal „Nature Medicine“, weist auf Problematiken bei der Nutzung großer Sprachmodelle zur Beantwortung von Gesundheitsfragen hin. Viele Menschen nutzen Chatbots zur ersten Orientierung, liefern dabei aber häufig unvollständige oder unscharfe Angaben. Dadurch entstehen im Zusammenspiel von Nutzerinnen und Nutzern und dem Modell Missverständnisse, die die Qualität der Antworten verschlechtern. Die Ergebnisse der Studie sind medial breit aufgegriffen worden.

Think about the roads, bridges and electricity grids that make modern life possible. Without them, nothing works. Digital Public Infrastructure, or DPI, is the digital equivalent: shared technology systems that an entire country can build on.
The idea is straightforward. Instead of every government department building its own isolated digital system, you build a set of common foundations once and let everyone build on top of them. The result is faster, cheaper, more inclusive public services.
