Center for Information Technology and Society (CITS)

The Center for Information Technology and Society (CITS) at the University of California, Santa Barbara, fosters interdisciplinary research on digital communication and information systems and their impacts on thinking, relationships, media institutions and effects, educational and family systems, the arts and humanities, work and play, societal changes, and the research methods by which these phenomena are explored. CITS is comprised of faculty members who hold regular appointments in 16 different departments in the arts, social sciences, humanities, data and information science, and computer science, as well as Visiting Research Scholars. CITS is at its best when it fosters collaborative research on issues that are too big for any single discipline to understand on its own. http://cits.ucsb.edu
