Two student assistant positions are available in General Sociology at the Department for Society, Knowledge and Politics, working with Ass.-Prof. Dr. Mathis Ebbinghaus, starting in late October or early November 2026. The positions are for 7 and 8 hours per week, respectively.
The student assistants will support Mathis Ebbinghaus’s research and teaching and become part of the General Sociology group (Prof. Ebbinghaus and Dr Yevhen Voronin). The work may include conducting literature and archival research, assisting with interviews and experiments, analysing data, and helping to prepare courses and teaching materials.
We are looking for Bachelor’s or Master’s students in sociology or a related field who are reliable, intellectually curious, and interested in social-science research. Excellent English is important. German may be useful for some projects, but is not a requirement.
The positions are remunerated according to the Collective Agreement for University Employees.
If you are interested, please send a short CV and a brief note (no more than 300 words) outlining your interests and experience to mathis.ebbinghaus@aau.at by 14 October 2026.
