This year, the Carinthian Academic Championships featured an excellent line-up of 10 teams. The teams played in two groups of five. The first and second teams in each group advanced to the semi-finals. The remaining teams played for their respective rankings. The “Finland” group was won by the team “Die Aufgaiger” from Villach. Second place in this group went to the team “Awesome hba.” In the ‘Sweden’ group, the team “HBA Lawyers” celebrated winning the group. Second place in this group went to the “Fritten Frodos.” This meant that “Fritten Frodos” played against “Die Aufgaiger” and “HBA Lawyers” played against “Awesome hba” in the semi-finals. In the first semi-final, “Die Aufgaiger” prevailed against “Fritten Frodos.” The second semi-final was unbeatable in terms of excitement. Here, the “HBA Lawyers” narrowly defeated “Awesome hba” in a penalty shootout. In a high-class final, the team from Villach, “Die Aufgaiger,” defeated “HBA Lawyers” and were crowned Carinthian Academic Floorball Champions.
