Iryna Vasylieva successfully defended her doctoral thesis entitled “Linearization of Contractive Random Dynamical Systems” on October 27, 2025.
She completed her doctorate as part of the doc.funds doctoral training program “Modeling-Analysis-Optimization of discrete, continuous, and stochastic systems.” The dissertation, supervised by Christian Pötzsche (AAU), is devoted to the smooth linearization of nonlinear random dynamic systems in continuous and discrete time. The focus is on deriving sufficient conditions for the conjugation of these systems to linear counterparts. The results obtained offer theoretical tools for the qualitative analysis of random and stochastic dynamical systems by transferring properties to well-understood linear models. Potential fields of application range from the engineering sciences to biology. The thesis was reviewed and examined by Álvaro Castañeda (University of Chile) and Maximilian Engel (University of Amsterdam, FU Berlin).
We congratulate Dr. Vasylieva on this success and wish her all the best for her future professional career!
