„Den Account von Trump zu sperren löst nicht das grundsätzliche und eigentlich ursächliche Problem – nämlich, dass wir es hier mit einem einflussreichen Politiker zu tun haben, der nicht davor zurückschreckt, Falschnachrichten zu verbreiten und gewalttätige Demonstranten offen zu unterstützen“, schreibt Hannah Schmid-Petri in ihrem Statement, in dem sie darlegt, dass soziale Medien nicht Ursache politischen Übels sind. Sie seien „sehr leistungsfähige Plattformen für Kommunikation und Gruppenbildung, die Menschen für erfreuliche wie für gefährliche Zwecke nutzen.
