From Work-Life Balance to ELGA Adoption: Digital Health from a Marketing Perspective (Symposium on February 20, 2026)

Robin HauserWith a total of seven posters at the intersection of digitalization and health, the Research Group Marketing and International Management at our newly founded Department of Management was well represented at the inaugural “Digital Health” symposium on February 20, 2026.  Our research expertise thus aligns well with AAU’s new research focus area.

The Research Group Marketing and International Management has been focusing on digital health research issues for years. For example, it examines the impact of communication and digital information and communication technologies (ICT) on individuals—that is, consumers, patients, and employees—as well as the factors that promote or hinder the adoption of digital technologies (e.g., ELGA).
Thanks to the participation of all professors in our Research Group Marketing and International Management in the interdisciplinary doctoral program “Health and Sustainability Communication and Management (HSCM)”, many promising young researchers in the field of digital health have already earned their doctorates or are currently well on their way to obtaining their desired doctoral degree (Dr.rer.soc.oec.). In addition to a poster on the HSCM program, six other posters from our Research Group Marketing and International Management were presented to an interested audience of approximately 150 researchers and practitioners at the “Digital Health” symposium on February 20, 2026, and were the subject of lively discussion.
The following posters were presented (in alphabetical order):

  • Anna Aschbacher: „Work-Health Balance matters”
  • Sonja Bidmon: „Electronic health records as a facilitator of empowered health management: Enabling communication between patients and health professions” (Supervision of the already successfully completed dissertation project of Dr. Anna Griesser, see pdf)
  • Sonja Bidmon: „Credibility, Awareness, and Interaction with Physician Rating Websites within the Austrian Environment” (Supervision of the already successfully completed dissertation project of Dr. Bernhard Guetz, see pdf)
  • Sandra Dohr: „Exploring the Role of Artificial Intelligence in Supporting Informal Caregivers of Older People in Home Care Settings” (ongoing dissertation project)
  • Katrin Lingenhel/Sonja Bidmon/Ralf Terlutter: „The Role of Emotions in the Influencing Chain Towards a Healthier Lifestyle” (see current book chapter)
  • Ralf Terlutter/Sandra Diehl (Department of Media and Communications): „Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) in the Workplace and Employee Health” (dissertation project by Dr. Katharina Ninaus, see pdf)

Are you interested in a collaboration or a dissertation project in the field of digital health? We look forward to hearing from you.
