Spitzensport & Studium – Semester Warm-Up 2025

As part of this year’s “Semester Warm-Up” event in the Foundation Hall of the University of Klagenfurt, the Spitzensport & Studium program, which has been running successfully since 2007, was ceremonially extended for another five years.
In the presence of Rector Ada Pellert and Governor Peter Kaiser, ice hockey goalkeeper Anja Adamitsch (Computer Science), ski jumper Sophie Sorschag (Teacher Training in Mathematics and Computer Science), canoeist Nadine Weratschnig (Teacher Training in Physical Education and Ethics), and former footballer Christoph Rabitsch (Applied Business Administration) were honored for their bachelor’s degrees, along with ice hockey player Thomas Vallant (Applied Business Administration) for his master’s degree, together with their mentors.
A special program highlight was an online interview with top swimmer Felix Auböck (World Champion 2021 and European Champion 2024), who currently lives in the USA. Felix, who ended his athletic career at the end of last year, provided interesting insights into his educational journey during his active swimming career and also spoke very openly about the new challenges in the life of “the second Felix,” who is currently pursuing an academic goal with great dedication.
Finally, this year’s new participants were introduced together with their respective mentors. For this academic year, these are: volleyball players Leonie Rabitsch and Jana Zierler, para-dressage rider Julia Sciancalepore (Master’s program), rower Vinzenz Zwick, and Hyrox athlete Moritz Steiner.
